hmmmm there seemed to be a severe lack of clutter,people,animals, etc. The stalls seemed to have signs made by the same person which is more like a strip mall than a marketplace! But there were some very nice 3D recreations and textures.

Here's a suggestion, assign a role to the builders rather than a task. Assign most of the people to the role of merchant and worker and squeeze them together in a tiny space where they must build a house and/or a shop.

Assign the rest to be the government/royalty etc and give them most of the rest of the land to build grand palaces and mosques etc.

I think a sim for tourism should have an ongoing commitment to improved content and an effort to attract traffic as when I went there it was empty and there was nothing to do but see the sights and then leave with no incentive to bookmark the site or extend my travel to a website or to Morocco itself.

hmmm that seems like a mighty slim list! Where is Star trek? :)

As Richard referenced in the revenge of the Nerds comment above, and I'll interpolate from, there is a geek inside all of us.

I suggest that when culture is discussed that it is followed by a time stamp, such as 'geek culture as of march 2008' because it is not geek culture circa 1988.

look at the comments, we all have our thoughts on geek culture and the concept of 'geek shopping' outside of a bookstore, computer or comic shop seems strange to me!

That's the problem with censorship and prohibition, that which is censored gains an aura of mystery and then curiosity becomes a factor.

I'll pop into this sim and see what's going on!

I'd add Engadget and SlashDot to the "blogs" section... and for infantile stuff not found on Fark, throw in ILoveBacon.com

I'm really excited now. Between Drupal's twitter module and the code posted here by Holly, I can create a community crime reporting Twitter in which Twitter members, as well as non-Twitterers (via the Drupal site) will be able to create posts to the twitter.

Sometimes things just all come together.

Hilary,

Thanks much. It seems like the auto-friending should be part of the API, but oh well, not terrible.

I had to adjust the code a tad to make it run off of my server. The Boolien in response to "if" testing if the message had the right tag would always return false.

I'm running php off a mosso.com server which runs PHP Version 5.2.0-8+etch5~pu1. That's a mouthful.

Here is what I did.

Original code:
<code>if (stripos($post[‘text’],$tag)) {</code>

What I did to make it work (for me)
<code>$tagexists = stripos($post['text'], $tag);
 if ($tagexists !== false) {</code>

Hmmm, it seems like it should work either way!

This is great stuff. Twitter has so much potential. I'm going to use this for a group crime reporting Twitter for my neighborhood.

All the best,

Shai
