Offline Web Applications Coming Soon

It started with the fuss last October over Srybe’s supposed offline features, continued with the announcement of the Dojo Offline Toolkit in January (Dojo is an JavaScript library for creating AJAX applications), and with today’s announcement on the Google Web Toolkit blog, it’s certain: offline applications are coming soon!

This means that your favorite web apps will continue to function when you don’t have access to the Internet. You’ll have access to your gmail archive while offline; be able to make diagrams with Gliffy; and continue to lose productivity to Facebook. Hopefully, the forthcoming web-based version of Photoshop will make use of this!

Thanks for the mention of Gliffy. We are very appreciative. If you have any suggestions and/or feedback please drop us a line at our newly revamped website! Thanks,
