Bellevue Community College has issued a report on the state of science education in virtual worlds, particularly at the community and technical college level. The report has a brief overview of virtual worlds, gives examples of science education (such at this molecule at the Second Life Science Center), then concisely presents the challenge and opportunities for learning.
The community of educators working in Second Life is becoming so large that it’s difficult to follow all of the work happening. Reports like this provide a higher-level perspective. It’s also a great introduction for people new to educating in SL!
